The simple decision to sing an encore at the karaoke contest changes two lives forever. With the crackle of a stun gun, Kylie Thomas and Jax Belamy are kidnapped. In less than 48 hours they’ll cross the Mexican border into a human-trafficking nightmare—unless they can escape their kidnappers first.

One Last Song is the third Thomas Family Novel, a series of standalone suspense novels featuring characters connected to the Thomas family of Syracuse, Kansas. (Please note: While One Last Song can stand alone, several characters from earlier books recur and brief mention is made of their stories. When Kristi isn’t working at her day job, playing outdoors at 3D archery shoots, and hiking or walking in the great Pacific Northwest, you can find her in front of her computer, hammering out exciting suspense stories, or chatting around on social media.

Although she has honed her writing craft for 30+ years, she only published her first book in 2012. Her strange and varied work history - having held jobs from a hotel housekeeper, a car wash attendant, an insurance underwriter, an electronics assembly line worker, a data entry tech in auto parts warehouse, a blueberry nursery shipping coordinator, a local delivery driver, and a truck driver and owner of her own trucking company - gives her a broad base from which to build her characters and storylines. Now a billing specialist for The Arc of Lane County, she supports those who care for people with disabilities while she pursues her writing career in earnest.

She got married for the first time at 38, skipped being a mommy and went straight to Grandma. Turns out it’s best for everyone that way.

Kristi's books are all affordably priced. In the time since self-publishing her first novel in 2012, Kristi has learned that working at selling her writing is a great way to kill the joy she has in the process of writing, so she has returned to the idea of writing for the joy of it. She still puts her heart and soul into producing the best possible product, trying only to make it easy for readers to enjoy her work for the least expense. She doesn't promise perfection but works hard to ensure the quality results in a low-to-distraction-free reading experience.

In April of 2023 she cut eBook prices as low as possible, making them free wherever she could. (Amazon doesn't make it easy to provide free eBooks, so all eBooks there are priced at 99¢.) You can find them free on other platforms - see website (below) for details. Paperbacks are priced as low as Amazon allows, or you can purchase directly from the website at cost.

What's the catch? We don't require anything of readers. If you are moved to do so, please feel free to leave a review. If you can afford it, you can donate to the cause of helping Kristi's bottom line. As of April 2023, money for professional covers will come solely from donations and royalties, or from bartering. One Last Song by Kristi Cramar Review

⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have never read any of Kristi's previous books , so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. I would recommend reading them with prior to this one to give you a better knowlege of the the characters and town. You won't be disappointed.

Kristi has an uncanny ability to make you feel just as nervous and scared as the characters in her book. The knot that formed in my stomach as they were trying to escape would not go away even as adult responsibilities came about. Trying to run around with one eye on my ereader was not easy , but there was no way I was putting it down.

Kylie is 17 and has a bright future that she's reading to jump head first into. In a small town where nothing bad happens she wouldn't think anything could happen to her. New comers with the promise of giving her a chance to live out her wildest dreams causes her to take her and her best friend Jax to the brink of danger.

Jax is a 20 year old farm hand , in love with his best friend. He's been in love with her since the first smile and would do anything to see that smile on her face. Alittle cautious when all Kylie's dreams are staring them in the face , he cant help but go along with it. After being abducted from the fair he feels responsible for getting himself and the others out of harms way.

The tragedy and suspense of this book was amazing. I would highly recommend for anyone needing a good hang on the edge of your seat moment.

One Last Song is a well-written suspense story with a dash of romance. The romance is between the 2 main characters, Kylie and Jax. It is not a romance between the kidnapper and the victim--I find those unbelievable and disturbing.

Even though we know who the kidnappers are and who they work for, it doesn't detract from the story.
There is violence and murder in the story but nothing is in graphic detail. The violence and murder are important in providing the extra determination, wariness, and stamina exhibited by the kidnap victims and the authorities working to rescue them. It is not just for shock value.

This is the first book I have read by Kristi Cramer but I intend to read the first 2 books in this series and future books she writes. I definitely recommend reading One Last Song.

In a modern American cowboy country and western story, Kylie is the local girl who wants to make it big as a singer - and sexy hero Jax is so crazy about Kylie that he wants whatever makes her happy. So when Kylie is offered a deal that promises to put her on the path to stardom, they both jump at the offer. However, the deal proves to be a ruse and the two find themselves kidnapped and at the mercy of a mad woman.

This is a thriller written quite prosaically, so think Grisham and Turow rather than a passionate dark romance with lots of emo. I can see it as a screenplay as it has a decent plot and likeable characters, but I would have liked a bit more edge.

ARC received in return for an honest review.

This was such an enjoyable story. It was nice to see the relationship between Kylie and Jax develop from a friendship into more. The stressful situation they were in brought them closer. I can't imagine the scary situation they spent together with Vera and Danica, wondering if they would make it out alive and unharmed. Don't miss out on reading this story to see how things end up for the four people kidnapped. Will Kylie finally realize she feels more for Jax then friendship?

Full disclosure, I am the sister of the author. However I did really like this story. Good pacing, plenty of touching moments. I loved getting a glimpse of the characters in the first two stories, So the four stars are well deserved. I really liked this book.

Very dramatic, couldn't stop reading!

This fast paced thrill was fantastic and an incredible choice for the third instalment of the series! The already tense story was made even more interacting by the fact that I already cared for these characters having already come across them earlier in the series. I cannot wait until book four is released!

I won a copy of One Last Song, and the synopsis sounded really intriguing. When I recieved the book, I was a little surprised at how short it is. I could classify this as a novella, and not a full length novel. Even though it was short, it was well written, suspenseful and full of romance! It's actually the 3rd book in a series, but they can be read as a standalone.

Kylie is a small town girl with big dreams, and her friend Jax always supports her. Just as she thinks her dreams are about to come true they pair finds themselves kidnapped along with two other people. Placed in a horrific situation, they must find a way to escape with their lives. This story kept me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't put it down!

This was my first book I've read from Kristi Cramer, but after reading One Last Song I can't wait to read the first two books in this series!

Kylie and Jax receive an offer they can’t refuse – a chance to sing on a national television program. Spotlights. Glitter. Adoring fans. There’s one problem. The offer is bogus. Next thing they know, they’re roped, gagged, and headed for the Mexican border, victims of the sex slave business. The couple responsible is bad news, but the news gets worse. Picking Kylie and Jax out of the crowd was no random kidnapping. The whole thing was planned, targeted – retribution for someone else’s past.

One Last Song is the third installment from The Boys from Syracuse, Kansas series. I’ve read all three books and can only hope author Kristi Cramer has a fourth book in the works. Cramer knows how to get under her reader’s skin. She knows when to heighten the tension and when to introduce new details to keep the pages turning. The book flows brilliantly from beginning to end and will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what happens next. If you have nerves of steel and a passion for psychological thrillers look no farther than One Last Song. I received a free copy of the Kindle version in exchange for an honest review. You won’t be disappointed in this 5-star read.

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a nice, light read and I enjoyed the story line. The author has a definite gift for writing. What stopped me from giving it a four star is the fact that I was confused on multiple occasions as to what character the dialog belonged to. The author referred to characters and things that were clearly described or went on in book one and two without any inkling of backstory. I would have appreciated understanding in order to fully enjoy the novel. Since I was under the impression that this book had the ability to stand alone, I found that disappointing. Would I recommend it anyway? Yes, but it would probably be advisable to read book one and two first.

Kylie loves to sing and Jax loves Kylie, One night at the County Fair, Kylie thinks her dream of becoming a star is coming true, but as Jax and Kylie near the big brown r.v. in the parking lot, Jax's instincts are telling him something isn't right. with the crackle of a stun gun, Kylie and Jax's life will change forever. with great plot twists and a story full of emotion, from sheer terror to joy and love, this story will take you on a journey of hope, survival and a new outlook on life. Fantastic story. Loved the characters and the author was able to capture my attention and pull at my heartstrings. Kudos Kristi!
